Anniston, Alabama (WLJS)--- Anniston police have launched an investigation into the alleged stabbing of a 27-year-old man Christmas Eve at an Anniston public housing complex.
According to Anniston police Sgt. Chris Sparks, a 27-year-old man, who has not been publicly identified, was allegedly stabbed in the shoulder by a 48-year-old man Tuesday following an altercation between the two at Glen Addie Homes in west Anniston.
The 48-year-old told police that the 27-year-old punched him after he forced his way into an apartment that belonged to a 30-year-old female acquaintance of theirs and that the woman who lived there did not invite the 27-year-old, according to Sparks.
The 27-year-old was treated at Regional Medical Center and is expected to recover.
According to Sparks, Anthony Spivey, 48, was arrested at the scene on disorderly conduct, a Class C misdemeanor, for allegedly screaming profanities and being unruly while police were investigating the incident.
Sparks declined, however, to say whether Spivey was the 48-year-old accused in the stabbing.
Shivey paid a $300 bond and was released from the Anniston City Jail on Tuesday.
According to police reports, the 48-year-old, when his identity is known, could face a felony charge of second-degree assault.
The 27-year-old could also face charges of felony first-degree burglary and misdemeanor third-degree assault.
